Born to Slay The Journey of a Self-Made Hair Icon

From the moment she was born—the first child, daughter, niece, and granddaughter—it was clear that she was destined to become HER. But few could have predicted just how far she would take that destiny. From humble beginnings, she has risen to live out her dreams in real time, on her own terms. A force to be reckoned with, she has not only built a name for herself as a phenomenal hairstylist, but she’s also been relentlessly sought after by top celebrities, casting companies, and directors in Georgia.

Her success, however, was never solely about the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry. It has been deeply rooted in her self-taught journey and an unwavering dedication to perfecting her craft. With the support of family and friends, she became the go-to girl for all things hair, providing services that spanned across all facets of styling.

Her unique ability to innovate and diversify her services set her apart early on, but it was her drive and entrepreneurial spirit that led to the creation of her own brand, Slay University, in 2014.

As CEO of Slay University, she enriched her entrepreneurial experience while empowering others to tap into their potential. But even with a flourishing career and a successful business, she knew her mission wasn’t complete until she gave back to her community.

In a powerful act of service, she offered a FREE braiding bootcamp for teens, a program designed to provide young women with valuable skills and empower them to create their own paths. Graduating 12 young ladies through the program, her impact was undeniable, and her contributions didn’t go unnoticed. She was recognized by the City of Atlanta for her outstanding achievements and dedication to youth empowerment.

Reflecting on her journey, she expresses deep gratitude, not just for the successes she’s experienced but for the opportunity to make a difference in the same community that raised her.

"Giving back is a full circle moment for me. I’ve always believed in lifting as I climb, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing these young girls take the skills they’ve learned and begin to build their own futures."

As she continues to break barriers and uplift others, her story is far from over. Her journey—from humble beginnings to living her dreams on her own terms—serves as an inspiring testament to the power of determination, faith, and giving back. The world is watching, and as she looks ahead, she’s just getting started.
