Updated: May 16

We had the oppourinty to interview Rikki McBride here at Becoming Her Magazine. We hope her interview inspires you.

Meet Rikki Rosè, affectionately known as "Esthie Bae," a woman who has transformed her life's journey into the spa world and her skincare line. Born in Miami, Florida, and later finding her roots in Statesboro, GA, Rikki has evolved from a dedicated community volunteer to a three-time award-winning Licensed Esthetician and proud owner of Royal Glow Aesthetics, a local day spa in Marietta, GA.

Rikki's professional journey is a testament to resilience and determination. A detour in her college dreams, prompted by the birth of her son with Cerebral Palsy, didn't deter her spirit. Instead, she entered the medical field, becoming a Certified Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. Balancing the responsibilities of work, raising three beautiful children, and contributing to her community became her daily mission.

Rikki's commitment to community service has garnered recognition, including the South's Greatest Moms in 2017, October Rising Entrepreneur of the Year for Moments Magazine in 2013, and Volunteer of the Year in 2020 for East Georgia Pop Warner. In 2020-2021, she embarked on a new venture, graduating as Valedictorian from aesthetics school and realizing her dream of owning a spa.

Established in 2021, Royal Glow Aesthetics quickly became a haven for over 1,000 clients, offering an array of services from Medical Skincare Aesthetics to Trigger Point Therapy Massages, Brazilian Waxing, MicroNeedling, Chemical Peels, Brow Tinting, Teeth Whitening, Permanent Makeup, stretch mark and scar revision, eyelash extensions, full-body waxing, and more.

What sets Royal Glow Aesthetics apart is Rikki's commitment to creating personalized experiences that empower clients to feel confident and beautiful from the inside out. It's not just about skincare; it's about fostering an environment where clients feel heard, seen, and valued. The services extend beyond the surface, offering therapeutic benefits that go hand in hand with promoting health, wellness, and self-care.

Rikki takes pride in being more than an esthetician; she is a community advocate, entrepreneur, and community leader. Her dedication to giving back is evident through her $10K in donated spa services, earning her the American Express Community Hero award in 2023. The "Beauty Mobb CEO" mission, launched in 2023, aims to be a model example for Black women estheticians and beauty entrepreneurs, emphasizing education and empowerment within a supportive community of women.

As a Global Leader and Accountability Coach for Spa Boss Tribe, Rikki assists Candace Holyfield, Six Figure Spa Chick, with her annual conference serving over 5K Black and Brown Spa Professionals. Her expertise has reached beyond local boundaries, with features in celebrity lounges at Essence Festival, celebrity spa lounges at the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas, and being awarded "The Best Day Spa" by the Best of Georgia in 2023.

For those seeking not just skincare but an immersive journey to self-love, confidence, and empowerment, Royal Glow Aesthetics is the sanctuary. Rikki invites you to join the Beauty Mobb movement, where education, empowerment, and the pursuit of dreams converge. Together, they are redefining beauty standards and creating a legacy of self-love and success.

Welcome to the glow-up journey! -Rikki Rosè

Q. Your journey from being a corporate employee to a successful entrepreneur is filled with determination and resilience. Could you share a specific turning point during your transition from a full-time job to becoming a stay-at-home mom and starting your vinyl and embroidery business, Pink Rose Monograms? What were the most important lessons you learned during those early entrepreneurial days that contributed to your success?

My journey from the corporate world to becoming an entrepreneur was no cakewalk. Life threw me a curveball when I became pregnant with my son, and despite all odds, I continued to work tirelessly until I was forced onto bed rest due to his health complications. The stress from my job took a toll on me, both physically and emotionally.

After my son's birth, which marked the beginning of numerous medical challenges including five brain surgeries and surgeries on his eyes and Achilles tendon due to Cerebral Palsy, my husband at the time suggested I leave my job and become a stay-at-home mom. But I couldn't sit idly. I'm a true workaholic. So, I ventured into the world of vinyl and embroidery and started my successful business Pink Rose Monograms. In my small town, I was one of the few black women diving into this business, and over 13years, I've established myself as one of the best. Throughout this journey, my belief in my dream and myself never wavered. My Capricorn nature kept me from giving up—I'm a true workhorse, as they say.

Q. Could you share the moment when you decided to pursue esthetics and what drove you to overcome the challenges, both financial and time-related, to complete your training? How has your background in teaching and volunteering influenced your approach to the beauty and skincare industry, especially in your motto of "collaboration over competition"?

I've always had an interest in wellness and skincare but never looked beyond my likeness of them. I re-entered the workforce in healthcare, even becoming an Allied Health Instructor, teaching adults in various medical fields. But I knew I wanted more so I decided to combine something I loved with what I was currently working and I had this HUGE vision to make them both work together for my good. I invested in myself, taking courses in eyelash extensions and body contouring to eventually teach them.

When I realized I was out of scope without the proper state licensing in Georgia, I didn't give up. I found a school and went back to study. I juggled a full-time job during the day, worked at a MedSpa in the afternoons, taught night classes, and attended esthetician school at night. It was a grueling, sleepless journey, but I was determined, and it paid off—I graduated as the valedictorian of my class.

Fast forward to today, I made a bold move, relocating to Atlanta with my three kids, and I now run a thriving day spa. I’m now a Celebrity Trusted, 5-Star Rated Esthetician. I've been recognized as a Best Day Spa nominee in Georgia and accepted as a ForbesBLK Member, all in my first year of business. August made 1 full year in my location! I invested in myself and sought mentorship from Six Figure Spa Chick, who has propelled my business to new heights and taught me the intricacies of the spa world.

Q. What was your becoming her moment?

My "Becoming Her" moment came when I shed the imposter syndrome and embraced the badass within. Collaborating closely with Candace Holyfield has given me the affirmation and confidence boost I needed to step into the spotlight. My qualifications and experiences are extensive, but stepping into the forefront wasn't something I initially felt comfortable with. I thought I was an introvert, but I've learned that sometimes, our true selves shine when we let go of those preconceived notions and boldly claim our place in the spotlight.

In the dynamic tapestry of life, transitions can be both challenging and transformative. Such is the case with the incredible journey of a woman who, against all odds, metamorphosed from a dedicated corporate professional to a thriving entrepreneur in the world of wellness and beauty.
