Meet Salyse

Updated: May 15

In the heart of Atlanta, where the rhythm of the city pulses through its streets, resides a musical dynamo whose journey began amidst the vibrant beats of Boston. Meet Salyse, a half-Italian and African American woman whose very essence is a melody waiting to unfold.

From the tender age of 5, Salyse's spirit was ignited by dance, a passion that intertwined seamlessly with her love for musical theater at the mere age of 7.

Raised by a single mother who adored soul music and reigned as a disco queen, and later discovering her father's affinity for house music, Salyse's destiny in the world of music was written in the stars.

Her path led her through the hallowed halls of Walnut Hill School for the Arts and Berklee College of Music, where she honed her craft and discovered her voice—not just as a singer, but as a visionary crafting sonic landscapes that transcend mere sounds.

But it was at 13, navigating through tough times, that Salyse unearthed her true calling. Guided by a mentor's hand, she birthed her first song—a pivotal moment that unveiled her destiny in music. And so, a journey of artivism began.

As protests in honor of Black lives reverberated through the streets of Boston, Salyse found herself yearning for more—an education that delved into her history, a platform to uplift communities, and a voice to stand against injustice.

With a heart full of determination, Salyse ventured to Emory University, where she earned a degree in African American Studies and a dance minor—a testament to her unwavering commitment to amplify marginalized voices and shed light on the shadows of history.

Upon arriving in Atlanta, amidst the backdrop of a world in turmoil, Salyse faced challenges that tested her spirit. Yet, through the darkness, she found light—in the form of Music in Common, a non-profit organization dedicated to using the universal language of music to strengthen, empower, and connect communities.

Now, on the cusp of releasing her first single and music video—a culmination of passion, perseverance, and unwavering faith—Salyse stands poised to unleash her infectious vibe upon the world.

For Salyse isn't just a singer; she's a beacon of hope, a conductor of joy, and a visionary whose music transcends boundaries, inviting listeners on an unforgettable odyssey through the realms of rhythm and soul.

Join her as she takes center stage, inviting you to dance away your worries and lose yourself in the magic of her music—a celebration of life, love, and the power of the human spirit.
